Ballyseedy Woods

Located on the edge of the Ballyseede Castle estate, Ballyseedy Woods is sustainable woodland which extends to nearly 80 acres. Dating back to the 16th century it was mapped first by Sir Edward Denny, with further planting by Col J Blennerhasset in the early 18th century.

It is a unique and tranquil retreat which has at least 22 varieties of native trees that have been growing there for centuries. Watch out for the ruins, the old house of John Blennerhasset, The Watermill and much more can be found also on the walk.

With many different routes to choose from, it is the perfect place to enjoy a leisurely walk or a rejuvenating run through wildlife and history that it features.

After your walk, enjoy well deserved lunch or afternoon tea in the Orangery at Ballyseede Castle.
