Markree Castle was delighted to take part in Tourism Ireland’s #GlobalGreening campaign for St. Patrick’s Day, alongside some of the most famous landmarks around the world.
This campaign represented a beacon of light and hope across Ireland and the world as we looked forward to the day when we could open our doors and welcome back our guests to travel again.
Thank you to the very talented Millie from McMorrow Irish Dance for her incredible Irish dancing.

Everyone had the opportunity to get involved in the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations and join Romantic Castles of Ireland and the rest of the world in lighting up green for St. Patrick's Day.
To send a message of hope, solidarity and friendship across the globe, we invited everyone to take part in Tourism Ireland's Light a Green Candle initiative.
We lit a green candle at 7pm and asked everyone to upload a photograph of it to social media using #GlobalGreening.
The 2021 Tralee St. Patrick's Day Parade went online, green and global.
Ballyseede Castle was thrilled that resident Irish Wolfhound, Mr Higgins, had been selected to take part in the virtual parade. He was, of course, one of the stars of the show.
Mr Higgins wasn't the only member of Romantic Castles of Ireland in a celebratory mood this St. Patrick's Day. His cousins Oscar at Cabra Castle, Róisín at Markree Castle, and Duke and Rí were also dressed up and enjoying the virtual celebrations.
