Why not try something different with an overnight stay at Ballyseede Castle Hotel and during your stay you have the chance to Walk with the Hawks.
A unique outdoor experience set in the grounds of Ballyseede Castle and the surrounds woods and countryside.
This will be a private booking with just your own party present and you can select how many people participate in the Hawk Walking.
You will be collected from the Ballyseede Castle Hotel and brought into the nearby countryside, alongside woodlands and open countryside. Following a brief introduction to falconry (which in 2010 was recognised by UNESCO as part of our intangible cultural heritage) you will be mentored on the basics of the art and practice of falconry and how to handle your hawk, then it’s off we go.
Our birds will freely follow you along the walk. The hawk will be ‘cast’ up into trees where it will follow you and your experienced falconer, from tree to tree, and from person to person. You will have repeated opportunities to call the hawk onto your gloved hand and get really up close and personal with these fabulous creatures.
This packages is only availabile on Mondays and Tuesdays from 1st of October until the end of March, and as there are linited time slots available please be sure to book early.
The additonal cost of the unique experience is just €60 per person and will last approximately one hour. Other members of your family may join you to capture this thrilling experience on camera. It is weather dependent.
